What to Bring to Drug Rehab

Below is a brief and generic list of what every person should bring with them to our Florida drug rehab center. While there may be more specific requirements, as our drug and alcohol rehab programs are individually personalized, this list will help get you started in preparing for your stay.

  • Sufficient clothing for a 30 day stay.
  • Casual clothing that is appropriate for community living. Casual pants, jeans, track suits, shorts and sports shirts are just fine. All patients must wear undergarments. You will be doing your own laundry so bring washable clothes.
  • Flat soled shoes like sneakers or other comfortable footwear is recommended.
  • You may bring running shorts but they can only be worn when at the gym, during approved workout times.
  • Bathing suits are acceptable but may only be worn at the pool or beach.
  • Reading is limited to substance abuse recovery related material.
  • Pens and notebooks for writing your journals.
  • All hygiene items such as deodorant, toothbrush, toothpaste, mouthwash, electric razor etc.
  • All medications in their original containers with the prescription attached.

What to Leave at Home
We have also included a list of items that should not be brought to rehab under any circumstances. In short, we have found that these items hinder our clients’ growth on their path to sobriety.

  • Any clothing that shows alcohol, drugs, sex, violence, or gambling. It is at our staff’s discretion as to whether an article of clothing is appropriate.
  • Expensive items including jewelry, electronics, DVDs or cameras.
  • Products that contain alcohol such as, aftershave, over the counter drugs or certain mouthwashes.
  • Weapons of any kind including guns, knives, pocketknives and ammunition.
