Testimonials

“I started doing heroin freshman year of college. When I was 21, I overdosed nine times in one and a half years, had a heart attack and was in the hospital for 3 months. I was in and out of detox and treatment centers for three years. I kept leaving and relapsing.

A little over a year ago, I came to Destination Hope. There’s something that separates it from any of the other centers I’ve been to. Being all guys lets me talk about certain things I wouldn’t with girls as a distraction. The fact that it’s small made a big difference, since I have a tendency to put up a front and hide in the corner. At Destination Hope, I couldn’t hide under the radar. I trust the people here, which has in past always been a problem for me. Destination Hope has made it feel like a family and it has been easier to open up and get honest with myself. Apart for the counseling and therapy, the environment is different every day. They allow you to see how life can be.

At every other place I’ve been, I was dying to get out after thirty days, but here I stayed three and a half months. This is my family in Florida.” – Patrick
