Aftercare

Destination Hope is dedicated to our clients after they leave their normal course of treatment. The prevention of relapse requires a structured and tailored after care plan which we provide each of our clients. We offer regular support groups and help put together a plan for continued treatment as needed with a 12 step component. We offer individual and group therapy as necessary and clients and their families are welcome to come to scheduled family therapy any time they wish.

Ongoing Treatment
It is easy to think that substance abuse and rehab have cured your addiction immediately after treatment. In actual fact, the journey is just beginning. An addict’s struggle with addiction is ongoing and what they do with the knowledge they received during treatment will go a long way toward determining whether or not they will stay sober for the rest of their lives.

As part of our discharge planning our counselors will help families make room for the returning and now sober addict. While Destination Hope strives to offer a rehab program that closely mimics normal life, there are times where it is important for the addict to seek an additional level of care following treatment. This can include:

Halfway Houses:
Depending on the individual, a halfway house may be the best option to follow substance abuse treatment. Even if the drug rehab program has made great strides in bringing the addict back to a “normal” life, longer-term societal integration may be needed to lessen the shock of everyday life. A halfway house is a gateway to getting back to a routine and an extended stay at a halfway house may include additional counseling as well as other behavioral counseling to acclimate the addict to their new life.

Ongoing Counseling:
Former clients and their families are welcome back at Destination Hope for family therapy whenever they feel they need it. They will also be in regular contact with their staff here. It is important that if the family core is starting to melt, professional counseling is sought and the core reconstituted. Remember that the family unit can be one of the greatest motivators of a client’s sobriety. Our counselors are here to help in your times of need. As our clients approach the final stages of their care, we work with them and their families to develop a plan for their long-term sobriety. If you have any questions about after care feel free to call us at 877-380-9777.
